Meet the candidates
Leadership Rooted in Mercer County
Don Ober and Kevin Monte de Ramos are running together for Mercer County Commissioner — bringing accountability, transparency, and a voice for every community to county government.

Candidate for County Commissioner
Don Ober
Don Ober is a lifelong Mercer County resident from Hamilton Township, a local musician, and a small business owner. For nearly five decades, he has built trust with families and residents across the county through his work with Don's Piano.
Known by many as Mercer County's own "Piano Man," Don understands the value of hard work, relationships, service, and showing up for people. He is running for County Commissioner to give back to the community that has supported him for so many years and to bring practical, common-sense oversight to county government.
"Public service should be about listening, showing up, and doing right by the people who call Mercer County home."

Candidate for County Commissioner
Kevin Monte de Ramos
Kevin Monte de Ramos is a Trenton resident running for Mercer County Commissioner with decades of experience in energy leadership, public program management, and infrastructure-focused policy.
Throughout his career, Kevin has worked as an energy industry management consultant, helping design, implement, and evaluate multi-billion-dollar energy efficiency programs across states and provinces. Today, he serves as a Bureau Chief for the State of New Jersey's energy efficiency portfolio, where he helps oversee programs that impact residents, businesses, and communities across the state.
Kevin is running to bring that same experience, discipline, and practical problem-solving approach to Mercer County. He is committed to strengthening infrastructure, protecting the environment, improving quality of life, and ensuring that county government works for the people who call Mercer County home.
"I'm running to bring the same discipline and problem-solving approach I've used in energy policy to Mercer County government."

Respect Every Community
Urban neighborhoods, suburban towns, downtown districts, seniors, families, and working people all deserve attention and respect.
